Russell Milton Whitehurst was a 7th generation Floridian, who served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s in Germany during the reconstruction after WWII. He had two daughters and homesteaded in Alaska with his mother Marguerite and brother Raymond. His later years were spent in retirement in Trinity Florida with his wife Stella. He passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 86. Thank you for your service.


Joyce was born in Tampa, Florida, in 1917. She was the daughter of Milton and Ollie Whitehurst. She married Robert Julius Johnson. Joyce passed away December 8, 2006.


Marguerite Bell (Greathouse) Knaggs was born on March 3, 1914. She was in a relationship with Doyle Willard Whitehurst, and had children Russell Milton Whitehurst and Raymond Albert Whitehurst. Marguerite Knaggs died at age 93 years old on August 31, 2007. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Marguerite Bell (Greathouse).


Ray Whitehurst of Medford, Jackson County, OR was born on November 2, 1938 in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida United States to Doyle Willard Whitehurst and Marguerite Bell (Greathouse). He had a brother Russell Milton Whitehurst. Ray Whitehurst died at age 66 years old on January 27, 2005 in Medford, Jackson County, OR, and was buried in 2019 at Oakgrove Cemetery in Tampa, Florida USA.

Doyle Willard Whitehurst was born in Tampa, Florida 12 January 1909 to Milton Whitehurst and Olive "Ollie" Graham. He was the oldest of seven children. He attended Hillsborough High School and after graduating from a technical school, got a job at Knox Inc. in Tampa. He would eventually work his way up to General Manager and co-owner, which included the Knox Hotel in downtown Tampa, and a chain of seven Knox Hardware stores. After the hotel was sold to the city for their court house annex, Doyle started Sultana, Inc., a real estate and construction company. In 1968, he built one of the first full service car washes in Tampa, the Big W Car Wash. He passed away 28 October, 1997.
