Thomas Rowan Morrow, Ireland Titanic
Thomas Rowan Morrow, Ireland Titanic
Thomas Rowan Morrow, my Grandfather's second cousin. He was born in County Down, Ireland in 1881. His brother, Waddell, had emigrated three years earlier to work on a ranch hand near Gleichen, Alberta, Canada and he was going to join him there. My Grandfather, Arba C. Morrow was to meet him at the pier and put him up for a few days till he arranged his travel to Alberta.

He boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger (ticket number 372622, £7 15s).

He died in the sinking. His body, if recovered, was never identified.

John Edward Smith - Titanic Captain
John Edward Smith - Titanic Captain
The captain of the Titanic, John Edward Smith, born January 27th, 1850, and died April 15th 1912 at the sinking of the RMS Titanic.

As with much of the story surrounding the RMS Titanic, there are various opinions about Titanic's captain. Some say that John Edward Smith was a hero who stayed on the bridge until the last moment radioing for help. Others say, that regardless of what he did or did not do, as captain of the RMS Titanic all of the various failures (ship's speed, leaving dock without enough life boats, not filling up the life boats to full capacity, and etc.) were ultimately his responsibility.
