David and Bridget had married in 1973 and they divorced in 1977. Rachel's father, David O. Brooks, had been convicted as a serial killer in Texas. His crimes occurred during the years of 1970 through 1973. A lifelong resident of Houston, Texas, Rachel attended Sharpstown High School in Houston Texas. She died at the young age of 18 in Texas in 1992, predeceasing both of her parents. Her father died in prison in 2020 of Covid-19 and her mother died in Houston in 2012.

David Brooks was married to, and divorced from, Bridget (Clark) Brooks (1958 - 2012). They had one child, Rachel Lynn Brooks (1973 - 1992). David and Bridget had married on July 13th, 1973 in Harris County, Texas and had divorced on March 8th, 1977 in Harris County, Texas. David Owen Brooks, an American serial killer, was involved in the abduction, rape, torture, and murder of at least 28 boys and young men between 1970 and 1973 in Houston, Texas, alongside his accomplices Dean Corll and Elmer Wayne Henley.
