he was a Baptist pastor he also serviced in the navy he and his wife Rebecca Kathrine smith jones founded a church on Atlantic Blvd. in Jacksonville Florida they had two children together Thruston earl jones and Patricia Kathrine jones they raised their kids until they were grown then they divorced due to verbal abuse because of his drinking a lot at that time. he never got over his wife he loved her until the day he died even those they were both remarried to other people he loved to fish and listen to country music he when to bluegrass festivals spend a lot of time with his two granddaughter Stephannie Lynn Nagel and Amy jones they spend weekends after weekends they would go on trips together camping in his camper they would pick peas and shell them they had a lot of dinners together and he even got to have his granddaughters sing in his church he also got to Baptist both of them Stephanie spend the most time with her grandfather he was a joker talked on his ham radio cb he also recorded his granddaughter Stephanie singing delta dawn he loved he voice he also was teaching her to play the guitar tragically on oct 25 1983 he had a major heart attack they took him to the hospital were his family all came to see him he was laughing and joking with the nurses like he always did they send all the grandkids home at 5 am he had passed away from another major heart attack he had a beautiful service minus his sister Susie Lois Muphy almost pulled him out of his casket he was layed to rested at evergreen cemetery in Jacksonville Fl he had a military gun salute it was amazing he had his own demons but he loved his family and loved serving Jesus he was a very good man and the only father figure Stephanie ever had grandpa i love you always RIP
