TOM WAS MY FATHER!! HE WAS THE BEST FATHER A LIL GIRL COULD EVER ASK FOR. EVEN THOUGH I WAS ONLY 4 YRS. OLD WHEN THIS GREAT MAN DIED, I HAVE MANY MEMORIES WITH MY FATHER. ONE OF MY BEST MEMORIES ARE THE ONES WHERE I WOULD GO ON THE SEMI TRUCK WITH MY DAD, JUST ME AND HIM WE WOULD GO COAST TO COAST ME TALKING AND ASKING HIM A MILLION QUESTION NONE OF WHICH HE EVER GOT TIRED OF ANSWERING... HE WOULD ALWAYS STOP AT A TRUCK STOP IN EVERY STATE WE WENT THROUGH AND ADD A SPOON TO MY COLLECTION OF SPOONS THAT HE STARTED FOR ME WHEN I WAS ONLY 6 MOS OLD. THAT WAS THE FIRST TRIP I MADE WITH MY DAD ON THE TRUCK AND FROM THAT TRIP TILL THE DAY HE DIED HE MADE IT OF MOST IMPORTANCE TO MAKE SURE HE ADDED TO MY SPOON COLLECTION. WE WOULD ROLL ON DOWN THE INTERSTATE LISTINING TO MY FAVORITE SONG THEN AND NOW "DADDY'S GIRL" I REMEMBER THE HORRIBLE DAY MY FATHER DIED, HIS BEST FRIEND WAS THE FIRE CHIEF FOR THE CITY OF ALCOA AT THE TIME AND WE WERE AT MCDONALDS HAVING LUNCH AND HE SAW OUR VAN THERE ON THE WAY TO THE CALL OF OUR HOUSE BEEN ON FIRE, HE STOPPED IN MCDONALDS AND TOLD US THE HOUSE WAS ON FIRE!! BY THE TIME WE ARRIVED AT OUR HOUSE THE FIREMAN HAD PUT THE FIRE OUT AND WAS TAKING MY HERO, MY BELOVED DAD AWAY FOR THE LAST TIME!! I HAD MANY HARD YEARS OF GETTING OVER THIS LOSS OF THE GREATEST MAN I EVER KNOWN, BUT HOLDING ON TO AND CHERISHING ALL MY GREAT MEMORIES THAT WE MADE IN THE VERY SHORT TIME WE WERE GIVING TOGETHER IS HOW I MANANGED. I THINK THIS WONDERFUL MAN SHOULD BE KNOWN AN REMEMBERED ALWAYS AS THE "STUMP JUMPER" BIG DOG SEMI DRIVER THAT HE WAS AND WHAT HE LOVED TO DO WAS ROLL THAT BIG OLD FLAT NOSE INTERNATIONAL SEMI ON DOWN THE HIGHWAY!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!! NEVER FORGOTTEN, ALWAYS IN MY HEART !! LOVE YOUR LITTLE "BUTTER BEAN" Photo of thomas thomas
