Possibly my godmother Irene Mabel HAMBRIDGE nee STEWART's great aunt, Mary MAWSON b abt 1835 Whitehaven, Cumberland parents John MAWSON, a blacksmith, & Elizabeth ROBERTS, married 1834 at Egremont, Cumberland ; following her mother's death in Cockermouth in 1855, she, her widowed father and all eight siblings migrated to Victoria, Australia arriving in January 1857, Mary age 21.
Mary may have married Peter HORIANS in 1859 in Victoria (and/or Edward YOUNG in 1863) - awaiting confirmation one way or the other.
Hannah MAWSON married William Aldham LAYZELL in 1861 in Victoria ; she was born Whitehaven, Cumberland to parents John MAWSON, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth ROBERTS ; her parents were married 7 January 1834 at Egremont, Cumberland.
Hannah MAWSON and her family - father and eight siblings - migrated to Victoria arriving in January 1857 on an assisted passage on the ship 'Arabian' following the death of her mother at Cockermouth, Cumberland, in 1855 ; Hannah LAYZELL nee MAWSON dies in Victoria, age 38 in 1876, one daughter Alice LAYZELL born 1862 at Pleasant Creek (probably Stawell West), Victoria.
Her mother Elizabeth ROBERTS was the fifth child of Peter & Hannah ROBERTS, born 28 November 1812 at Egremont, Cumberland

Denis CULLEN arrives in Hobson's Bay on ship 'Joshua' in February 1852, Irish, age 32 and marries Ann KINSELLA in 1864 ; children Patrick William born (and dies) 1865, Sebina Francesca born 1867 (dies 1916 at Coburg). Sibena marries Henry (Harry) HAMBRIDGE at St Bridgit's RC Church, Fitzroy 17 Nov 1886, the newspaper notice describing her as the only daughter of the late Annie CULLEN, Geelong.
So Annie CULLEN nee KINSELLA dies between 1867 and 1886.
A Denis CULLEN, likely to be this one, dies in 1904 age 72 at Ararat Lunatic Asylum and there are several newpaper reports and police notices for a Denis CULLEN usually drunk and disorderly and of 'bad character' in the Horsham area in the preceding years, and may be why he is not mentioned in the marriage notice.
