2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Married Mary Catherine Smith about 1861. Enlisted for the 43rd Regiment, Alabama Infantry in May 1862 when he was 20 years old. Captured by Union solders in Loudon, Tennessee in December 3rd, 1863. Imprisoned at Rock Island, Illinois for 13 months. As a release condition he enlisted for Army of the United States of America on Oct. 3rd 1864 and was released Nov. 7th 1865. Upon his release he returned to Lamar County (formerly Fayette Co.) Alabama. He and Mary had 4 sons and 4 daughters between 1866 - 1885
