I've heard all about the wood fueled steam thrashers. They were also used in Oklahoma before statehood by the Choctaw Indians. They would transport them from farm to farm for harvesting the wheat...
I think the third man (from the left) standing in suit with hat and beard is Thomas Davis Williams. I have another picture of him and this picture sure looks like him.
