He had siblings Louise Arlene (Aherron) Hasty, Violet Elizabeth (Aherron) Drew, Kenneth Eugene Aherron, Edith Marie (Aherron) Mathews, Reuben Beverley Aherron, Lucy Rachel (Aherron) Gregory Johnson, and Richard Theodore Aherron. He married Bessie Catherine Lovelace Aherron on September 17, 1932 in Danville, and they were married until Carlton's death on January 2, 1979 in Danville. He had children Carlton Thomas Aherron Jr. and Lance Edward Aherron. Carlton Aherron was buried on January 4, 1979 at Highland Burial Park N Main St, in Danville.

    C. T. Aherron Funeral rites for Carlton Thomas Aherron, former co-owner of Aherron Motor Co., will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Chapel, with interment in Highland Burial Park. The family is at the residence at 119 North Ave., and will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30. He was taken ill yesterday morning, and died later in the day in Memorial Hospital. Aherron was a native of Lynchburg, born Jan. 1, 1909. His parents were the late Thomas Aherron and Willie Mae Garbee Aherron. On Sept. 17, 1932, he married the former Bessie Lovelace, who survives. Most of his life was spent in Danville, where he was a well known automobile mechanic. Aherron was a member of Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Lance Edward Aherron, Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Watkins, Richmond; and five grandchildren. Also five sisters, Mrs. Louise Hasty, Mrs. Violet Drew and Mrs. Edith Mathews, all of Danville, Mrs. Rachel Johnson, Hampton, and Mrs. R.S. Miller, Johnson City, Tenn.; and three brothers, Reuben "Buck" Aherron, Danville, Kenneth Aherron, Chesapeake, and Ted Aherron, Newport News.
