Harold Frederick Davis was born on November 5, 1931 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri United States to William Harold Davis and Virginia Leah (Vogan) Davis, and had siblings Lowell Dean Davis, James Herbert Davis, and Carole Virginia (Davis) Haake. He married Helen Jeanette (Long) Davis, and they were married until Harold's death in September 1984. He had a child William Frederick Davis. Harold Davis was buried at Mount Washington Cemetery 614 South Brookside Avenue, in Independence.
