Auguste Caroline BIERWIRTH
I've recovered an old photograph of Auguste Caroline BIERWIRTH which was taken on 25 April 1901 at the C. T. Pomeroy Studio in Kansas City, MO. Auguste's birthday is noted as 19 Feb 1898 in Green Bay, WI. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Auguste and her family:

Augusta Carolyn BIERWIRTH was b. 19 Feb 1898 in Huron Bay, WI to parents Ernst Anton or Anson Gerhard BIERWIRTH (b. 1860) and Sophie Helene Ferdinandine Caroline or Karoline EGGERSS (1862 or 1863-1952 or 1958) who were married 10 Feb 1885 in Persia, IA. Augusta had two siblings including Georg or George Frederich “Fred” Carl BIERWIRTH (1890-1959) and Elsa Wilhelmina Augusta BIERWIRTH (1892-1984). Augusta was married three times, first to Percival “Percy” Charles EASON (1893-1968) on 28 Apr 1920 or 1 May 1920 in Kansas City, MO; second marriage was to Carl O. SCHUTTE (b. 1893) on 30 Jan 1948 in Sebastian, AR; and third on in 1965 in Seattle, WA though I don’t have his name.

Some records also include Augusta using the last names of GUSHEL and HEULER suggesting that there may have been additional marriages or one of them could be the name of her third husband. Augusta died 4 Dec 1974 in Seattle, WA.

I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to her family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley

Shelley is just one of the many kind community members who buy photos in order to reunite them with family. She found and shared this circa 1901 photo of darling Auguste Caroline Bierwirth, who was born in Wisconsin and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where this photo was taken.

Shelley researched Augusta Bierwirth (1898 - 1974) and found out that she had an older brother and sister, married three times, and died in Seattle Washington. Her maiden name, Bierworth, means "an innkeeper" in German and may give a hint as to her heritage.

We hope Shelley is able to reunite and return this photo to Augusta's family. For more information and to share any additional details you may have about this family, please leave a comment.

She’s adorable. It’s weird that she was able to do so much research on her and still not able to reunite her with her family!

Suzanne Berglund-Edwards That's often the hard part - and it looks like Auguste was married three times but didn't have children - just possible nieces and nephews? Hopefully, someone will remember her face (from other old photos) or name!

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director
My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
