Dorothy Curtis

I’ve “rescued” an old photograph identified as that of Dorothy CURTIS at age 4 years. The photograph was taken at the Riel Studio in Chicago, IL most likely in the early 1900’s. I’m hoping to locate someone from Dorothy’s family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this CURTIS Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Date & Place: in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois United States

Perhaps you are the one who will find this lovely child's family. Her name and the location of the photo are known.

Often you can find records and people related on the ancestry sight. Dorothy usually became Dottie or Dot and people participating in the census rarely used their formal names once they got older and were going by a nicname. My great, great grandmother s name was Isobel but sometime after went by Ole....if my great Aunt hadn't mentioned grandma ole I would have never thought it was the same lady...

Lovely picture. The photographer mentioned, George Riel was in Chicago at 339 W Madison until about 1904 apparently. Then it seems he moved to Alabama and became a farmer. If this was taken in 1907, then maybe the business continued after he moved? Or is it earlier than 1907?
