George F Kneller
George Frederick Kneller was born on August 30, 1908 in ldham, Lancashire, England. He is the son of John William Kneller (1886-1929) and Margaret Ann Truslove (1886-1973). He had siblings Leonard (1910-1964), Bernard (1911-1964), and John William Kneller (1916-2009). Dr. Kneller was a tour organizer of tours to Europe from approximately 1954 to 1959, but he may have started his tours before then. The tour was known as the Kneller Tour. The itinerary was very extensive and covered about 14 countries with stays in about 22 first class hotels. In 1957 I (Svend Hartmann) was invited to join Dr. Kneller in London for his trip back to UCLA where I assisted with typing the manuscript to his book: the Philosophy of Education. About 30 years later I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Kneller with my wife and three children at his beautiful house on 372 Hilgard Avenue near the UCLA campus.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

George Kneller served as my doctoral advisor at UCLA from 1971 to 1976. We collaborated in writing and publishing "The Educational Technology Handbook." When he had an extensive hospital stay, I moved into his 372 Hilgard Avenue house, and subsequently aided in his recovery.
All my grandparents were born in the USA, mostly Minnesota. All their parents were born in Germany, and moved to America from 1850 to 1870. My parents, Randall and Viola made the transition from farming to industrial employment upon move to SF Bay area in 1945. I married Teresa Palacios in 1995 and we have a daughter, Grace, and a son, Andrew. My siblings are Valerie, Vaughn, and Daryl.
