i'm in a bad mood: Young Lucy gets her picture taken on her graduation from college with her degree in hand she expectantly looks forward to a bright future encouraging young minds to explore a world full of endless possibilities only to be struck down as the second deadly wave of Spanish flu has just begun to sweep the nation..... Ancestry.com: I think I found her. Georgia Lee Spitzer. Born 22 Feb 1894 in Mannell, Tx, lived in several places in KS while growing up, including Mulvane, Sumner County in 1915. She appears to have graduated from HS in 1912 from Winfield HS in Winfield, KS (Cowley County where she is recorded as living several times - not sure if the county lines moved around or the family did...). She married Leon Chester Amend. She died 8 Feb 1979. Buried in Wichita, KS at Wichita Park Cemetery and Mausolem. Legally changed her name to Georgette Lee. I sent the Ancient Faces link to the person who owns the tree. Unfortunately, no pictures or other information. I realize the date on the pictue and the picture itself suggest someone a few years younger, but otherwise it's a good match.
