Ada Wilson Dundas
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph identified as Ada Wilson DUNDAS which was taken at the Bollow’s Art Studio in Osborne, KS. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900’s with Ada likely in her 20’s at the time. I don’t know if “Wilson” is a middle name (maybe her Mother’s maiden name) or her own maiden name. I’m hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

David Clark
I've "rescued" an old photograph of David CLARK which was taken at the Bannister Studio in New Richmond, WI sometime in the 1890's early 1900's. David appears to be in his teens or 20's at the time. In addition to his name, someone has also written "Cousin to Mitchell" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding David and his family:
David CLARK was b. abt 1882 in Wisconsin to parents Clarence Philip CLARK (1854-1918) and Phoebe HADLEY (1851-1926). David was one of 9 children born to this couple including, Lillian “Lilly” Dora; Maud LaPearl; David Howard; Ashabel; David; Prudence “Prudie” Rose; Buln; Ray Vaughn; and Vaughn CLARK, all born between 1874 and 1892. David died 29 Dec 1950 in Los Angeles, CA.
Census records provide the following details:
1910 census of Glenwood, WI:
Clarence CLARK, age 56, married 35 years, born WI, parents born NY, a Stone Works Mason
Phoebe CLARK, wife, age 55, married 35 years, 6 children/5 living, born NY, parents born NY
David CLARK, son, age 28, born WI, a Farm Work Laborer
Bulu CLARK, dau, age 27, born WI
Vaughn CLARK, son, age 18, born WI
I’m hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this CLARK Family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Margaret Gorman, Miss Washington DC 1921
Margaret Gorman, wearing a bathing suit, in the "Miss Washington D C" pageant. She later won 1st prize beauty at the Atlantic City pageant and was "Miss America 1921". She was the "lightest Miss America at 108 pounds until 1949" - when Miss Arizona, 106 lbs, won.
From missamerica.org: "Margaret, along with other "Inter-City Beauties," arrived in Atlantic City and entered a new event: The "Inter-City Beauty" Contest. Judges and the public both scored the contest - each shared in 50 percent of the final score.
The amateur prize, the Watkins Trophy, was awarded to Margaret Gorman, Miss South Jersey, Kathryn M. Gearon placed second, receiving $100 in gold. A special professional prize, the Endicott Trophy, was awarded to Miss New York, silent film actress Virginia Lee.
An immediate hit with the crowds, the "Inter-City Beauties" were later judged head-to-head against two other "Beauty" winners in selected classes of the now famous Bather's Revue: an "amateur winner" from over two hundred local women and tourists, and a "professional winner," which included a field of eleven professional models and actresses. In this extravagant and much-hyped final event, Margaret Gorman won the Grand Prize: the Golden Mermaid trophy."
She later married Victor Cahill.

Minnie B. Wilson
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Miss Minnie B. WILSON of Charleston, IL which was taken at the E. R. Scharz Studio in Charleston. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Minnie likely in her teens at the time. A note on the photograph indicates that she is Eldro's cousin. In addition, someone has written "198 East Harrison Avenue" on the back of the photograph as well. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Minnie and her family:
Minnie Belle WILSON was b. 21 Jan 1877 in Staunton, VA to parents John Hendren WILSON (1848-1892) and Mary BEARD (1837-1932). Minnie was one of 9 children born to this couple including, Effie May or Mae; Minnie Belle; Joseph Maurice; Rose; George Walter; Elsie; and Nellie Moncure; Tina; and Holmes WILSON, all born between 1875 and 1892. Minnie died 22 Jul 1918 in Charleston, IL and is buried in the Mound Cemetery in Charleston, IL.
I’m hoping to locate someone from Minnie’s family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
