Hoover Inauguration, 1929
A photo of the inauguration of Herbert Hoover on March 4, 1929. Hoover served as the 31st President of the United States for one term, until March 4, 1933. The stock market crash in 1929 and the Great Depression were influential in his not winning a second term. Franklin Roosevelt won and began the first of his terms, overturning many of Hoover's economic policies.

The crowds on President Hoover's inauguration day, March 1929. Inauguration day moved from March to January in 1937 - can you imagine boys in trees with the security today?

Those are not sore losers. Those are hoodlums who use any excuse to riot. They do it on both sides and they ruin it for everyone.

I currently, and have always, despised Trump.
But I tell ya, I would have grabbed a bat from one of those jackasses and used it on them.

No matter the reason for the protest, violence is never the answer and only hurts the cause it pretends to support.

My thoughts are with the injured officers.

It looks like a huge bird in the top right tree. Not sure those branches would support a boy up there but it could be.

I think it looks like a bird, too - do you think it's a bald eagle? :)

Great picture.
Hoover was one of the US's worst-ever Presidents. Any reason for choosing this particular image today? ;)

Hoover wasn't that bad, just completely unprepared for the consequences of the wall Street crash. His actions during and after wwi in feeding the starving people of Europe were remarkable.

Sorry to nit pick Gregor but it seems you're missing an I there ;). I didn't know what you had raised there though, so thanks for that.

It wasn't intentional to chose Hoover's inauguration although there are some similarities to a lot of people, I understand. It was just the best photo I could find - love the boys in the trees.
