Judd Downing
Franklin Judd Downing was born in Lima Ohio to Frank Hughes Downing (1870-1940 and Maude McGuick (born 1885). He studied law at the University of Miami circa 1930, then moved to Los Angeles by 1935. He married three times, including to Betty Jane McIvor (1919-2014). According to his World War 2 draft registration card which he filed on November 19th 1940, he was living in Los Angeles California and was working for the California Casuality Industry Exchange. The 1940s census shows that he was an attorney 'working on his own account' and lived at 629 South Hobart Ave in Los Angeles. According to various Los Angeles newspapers, it seems as though Franklin was an attorney to a number of actors, including English actor Rex Harrison whom he represented upon Rex finding Carole Landis' body after a suicide. He also attended local fundraisers and annual balls, and donated to various fundraisers.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
