Came from Provencal, Louisiana with my Great Grandmother, Evaline Gilchrist. Do not know who he is.
I am trying to connect with the descendants of the man mentioned on this medal. I have traced his linage to a James Loretz born approximately 1928/1927 based in the 1940 Census. I don't have a middle initial and I am wondering if this gentleman is connected.

This picture was taken about 1987 somewhere near the French Quarter area in New Orleans. The identities of these ladies or what organization they belonged to is not known to me at this time. The woman on the left appears to be a Postulant ("a candidate for admission into a religious order") The two women to the right appear to be Nuns. I have not been able to find out what Religious Order the emblem on the front of their guimps (collars) belongs to. It appears to be a cross, flanked by a heart and some other object all encircled by a crown of thorns.
