Andrew C. Gooden Jr.
Andrew C. Gooden Jr. of Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA was born on December 1, 1927, and died at age 63 years old in June 1991.
Norman would actually be my "half-uncle" if there is such a definition/ his mother was also my mother's mother. I am just developing a more in-depth bio on Norman. I do know that he was the first child of my maternal grandmother, Clara Marie Price. The birth certificate shows Marie Price as the mother, omitting the "C". Robert Hart, no middle initial, is listed as the father. Norman lived in the Evanston Ward in Chicago IL with his aunt Mabel Price Pontious and his uncle Forrest A Pontious. (Mabel was my grandmother's older sister). He appears in the 1920 census at their residence. I was always told that Norman's father, Robert Hart, was some sort of agent and went missing investigating something, possibly near the Mexican border. I have yet to find any documentation about an agent , either with the US Government or the rail road that was killed in the line of duty in the time frame involved . I will continue to look but am wondering about the story. It was a very dramatic story to a young child. My grandmother would remarry and had 7 girls by my grandfather, Henry (Harry) Bien . I thought Norman lived with them for a while but it doesn't appear to be the case. Norman was 17 years old when my mother was born. Three of my mother's sisters did spend some time in Evanston visiting. Norman died of stomach cancer, I believe. The death is around 1958 as my mother said I was starting first grade that year. I believe I have seen the death certificate and that he is buried in Evanston. He was married, with his wife being something that sounds like ""Lowie". I am trying to get the full story out of my mom/I always thought he had a son named Phillip that visited my house when I was young (along with his mom) but my mom isn't sure of his name. I will contact some other cousins who may remember some of this. As it is, the story is all still somewhat a mystery. As I clarify more beyond the memory of a very young kid, I will add. Anyone who has any other information, I would love to hear from you!
