I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Lawrence and Viola PRIMEAU which was taken at the Smith Studio in Escanaba, MI sometime in the 1890’s. Viola appears to be about 5 years old at the time and Lawrence just a baby. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family:

Viola PRIMEAU was b. October 1891 in Escanaba, MI to parents Pierre Napoleon PRIMEAU (1864-1925)and Laura SALVA (1872-1943). Viola was one of 5 children born to this couple including Viola; Lawrence N.; Hercules Homer; Charles Anthony; and Vilna Marie PRIMEAU, all born between 1895 and 1903. She married Cornelius Erastus BARTLEY (son of Casper BARTLEY and Nellie BURKE) on 25 Apr 1911 In Escanaba, MI. Her brother Lawrence N. PRIMEAU was b. 9 Jul 1895 in Escanaba, MI and married Blanche RICE (dau of William RICE and M. CHURCH) on 14 Apr 1919 in Menominee, MI. Lawrence died 5 Nov 1945 in Los Angeles, CA.

Florence PRIMEAU, dau, age 3, born Jul 1896, born MI (I think this is actually the son Lawrence?)
Hercules PRIMEAU, son, age 1 month, born May 1900, born MI
+ 1 Hired Girl

1910 census of Escanaba, MI:

Napoleon PRIMEAU, age 44, married 20 years, born Canada, parents born Canada, to USA 1886, a Wholesale Liquor Merchant
Laura PRIMEAU, wife, age 37, married 20 years, 7 children/4 living, born MI, parents born Canada/WI
Viola PRIMEAU, dau, age 19, born MI
Lawrence PRIMEAU, son, age 14, born MI
Hercules PRIMEAU, son, age 9, born MI
Velna PRIMEAU, dau, age 7, born MI
Charles GRAVELLE, adopted son, age 7, born MI, parents birth unknown

A photo in the family album but we are unsure of the people. We suspect the man at bottom right might just be our great-grandfather John Robertson, and that it may be near the front of Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville, LA.

A photo of Octavia Robertson. The third from the left with ribbon around head is my grandmother Octavia Missouri Robertson. Born in 1907, I am guessing maybe 15 here which would place this picture at about 1922. Five years later she would be married and giving birth to twins, my mother and uncle.
