Van Etten Family
Van Etten Family
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of the VAN ETTEN Family which was taken at the Dereich Studio in Lyme, NY. The photograph appears to have been taken in the late 1890’s with the 6 children ranging in age from infant to teens and their Mother likely in her 30’s at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family:

William Peter VANETTEN was b. abt 1840 in Belfort, NY to parents Jacobus VANETTEN Jr. (b. 30 Oct 1798) and Katherine MURPHY. William married Emona Gene BALCOM in Carthage, NY and the couple had at least 5 children including, Sophia; Gladys; Grace; Emma; and L. Roy VANETTEN. L. Roy VANETTEN was b. 9 Nov 1888 in Belfort, NY and married Alice MAHER and together they had three children including, John; Roy, and James P. VANETTEN.
