Garrison School, Gr 5, 1960-1961, named
This is a class from Garrison School, 1960-61. The teacher is Miss Kinkaid. Please see the other photos I've posted with the same teacher at the same school, different years (look under special collections, School Days). This is id.ed as grade 5, Room 6. I have posted all the names below, starting with front row left to right, then middle, then back row. I have also listed one child who was "absent with mumps," at the end of the list, as the info might help to i.d. the school. This photo was part of a lot of photos received from a person in Kansas, who got them from another person who collected them from numerous estate sales throughout Kansas and Oklahoma.

I did a web search for a Garrison School in Kansas or Oklahoma and there seem to be several. I have written to one. There are also others across the US and Canada. I can't guarantee which one it might be. If anyone can tell me, I would be delighted. I hope the names will give a clue to someone. Also, it may be in the same district or county as a “Cleaveland School” which is mentioned on one of the class photos.

as above

Harry D Knakiewicz of Toledo, Lucas County, OH was born on March 14, 1926, and died at age 72 years old on February 5, 1999.
William Septimus de Septimo Moorhouse was the 7th son of the 7th son. He was born in Knottingley, Yorkshire to William and Ann. William Septimo de Septimus was one of the early pioneer families in the Hay district of NSW, Australia. He married twice as his first wife died at an early age. He was an excellent horseman and was a Cobb and Co coach driver. He leased some land near Hay and also was the licensee of a hotel or inn at Hay. The terrible droughts and dust storms in the Riverina district made farming difficult. One of his children, Fannie (Fanny) May Moorhouse born 1875 married Gilbert Manus Magill in 1900 and their daughter Fanny (Peggy) Magill and her husband Ernest File adopted me. My mother and grandmother always told me they were related to the Tyson family by a relative Eliza Herring who married John Magill (Gilbert's father). Eliza remarried after John died and was Eliza Hill. William Septimus de Septimo Moorhouse had an older brother, William Sefton Moorhouse who went to New Zealand. There is a monument to him in Christchurch. They are related to the Bishop James Moorhouse who lived in Melbourne for a number of years.
