Mavis Margaret Ann, was the daughter of William Henry and Lucy (Wilson) Griffin, she had 8 siblings: Arthur, Stanley, Bill, Elsie, Hazel, Ivy, Myrtle and Nellie. Mavis is my grandmother, my family know very little about her and her family. We know that she and husband Keith Horace Gorrie lived in Beauchamp Street, Preston, Victoria in Australia and that it is her last know address. She and Keith had two children Lois and Graham both deceased. Lois had 6 children with her husband Robert (Bob) Wright - Robert jnr. (dec.) Tony, Gaye, Perry, Angela and Peter (dec.). all born on the NW Coast of Tasmania. Graham had two daughters Kim and Jenny Gorrie, last know to be in Queensland.

Keith was a trained pianist with the London Conservatory of music. (Sydney) as Keith was a showman and frequently played with jazz bands in the Melbourne. Keith resided in Preston Victoria. He married Mavis Margaret Ann Griffin and had two Children . Graham William Gorrie and Lois Yvonne Gorrie (Wright). Sadly Mavis passed away 1941 and the children were cared for by their grandmother Rebecca Jane Gorrie (Parmenter) and Keith, their time split between spending time in Victoria and on the family property in Wagga Wagga (four miles from Henty). Later Keith , Graham and Lois moved to Tasmania and settled in a small town called Ridgley, near Burnie . Keith remarried a lady named Vera Hardy they had another four children Ellen (Macy), Vivenne (Webster), Terrence Keith (Terry) dec 2014 and Aileen (Maxwell). Keith owned and worked a mechanics garage in Ridgley. Later Graham joined the Victorian Police force as a diver and married Margaret Elain Carmicheal in 1956 , they had two daughters Kim and Jenny. Keith's eldest son Graham died in 1961 age 25 years after a coronary occlusion. Lois Gorrie married Robert Wright ,together they had 6 children, Robert Keith Wright dec. Tony William Wright, Gaye Maree Wright, Perry John Wright , Angela Sheree Wright and Peter Graham Wright dec 2016. Keith's Final years were spent around the Penguin district of the North West Coast of Tasmania.
