Beverly Scott

Currently, I am researching my grandmother's past and looking for her parents. She and her sister were put into an orphanage in April, 1900, in Memphis, TN. Their surname at the orphanage was listed as "Lowry," but so far I have not been able to find their mother even though she was still living at that time. Their father could have been named John or George or even John George. He died sometime between 1897 and 1900. At the orphanage, my grandmother's name was Dora and her sister's name was Dorothy(Dolly). They were separated and Dolly was adopted. She died in 1907. My grandmother died in 1972 never knowing what happened to her mother. I would love to complete that story for her, as would my thirty-five first cousins.
