Estes and Swanson families picnicking: Harry is sitting at the picnic table directly in front of the camera. I think that's me all the way back in the center of the picture. His Dad, Oscar is standing to the right with the plaid shirt and hands in back pockets. I don't see his Mom, Natalie in the picture, so she must be the one who took it. This was in La Honda.

Nancy Newton
A photo of Nancy Newton who was the daughter of Allen B. Newton and wife, Rachel Isaacs, Newton. She was born in Estill County, Ky. on Nov.14, 1839 and died on Dec.12, 1912 in Estill County. She married Hiram Estes on Dec. 19, 1861 in Owsley County, Ky. She had two sisters and a brother who all married members of this same Estes family !

I knew Harry when we both lived in San Francisco and Pacifica. We met in school about 1958-59, and I last saw him in 1964, when my family moved to Omaha. He was a good friend; his family invited me to go on a camping vacation in 1961 in the Sacramento delta area, and our families used to picnic together at La Honda, etc.
RIP, Harry.
