I've "rescued" a group of photographs belonging to the CAMOZZY Family including one of Milton CAMOZZY taken at the Palace Studio in San Francisco, CA when he was just 21 months old. The second photograph is one of Helen Florence CAMOZZY taken on 26 Dec 1924 in Ellensburg, WA when she was 4 1/2 years old and a flower girl in the wedding of Ann LITCHER and Bernard SWANSON. The third photograph is one of Milton's parents Mr. & Mrs. G. G. CAMOZZY which appears to have been taken in the 1890's. This photograph is framed in a gilded frame typical of that time period.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:

Milton Daniel CAMOZZY was b. 7 Jun 1899 in California to parents Gabriel G. CAMOZZI and Florence Mamie GENASCI, he married Esther R. CAMOZZY (1900-1983) and together they had two children including daughters, Bette or Betty Jean CAMOZZY b. 15 Aug 1921 in Ellensburg, WA and Florence Helen CAMOZZY WARNER who died in Ellensburg Washington in 2015. Milton died 8 May 1983 in Ellensburg, WA and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Ellensburg.

Gabriel G. CAMOZZI or CAMOZZY was b. Jul 1866 in Switzerland and d. 1910 and is buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Nevada City, CA. on 24 Dec 1895 Gabriel married Florence Mamie GENASCI who was b. 1873 in Nevada City, CA. The couple had two children, a son Milton Daniel b. 1899 and a daughter, Florence H. CAMOZZI b. 1905. After Gabriel’s death in 1905 she remarried, her second husband was Frank L. HARTMAN (1873-1934). Florence and Frank had a son, Frank HARTMAN Jr. born in 1912. Florence M. HARTMAN died 16 Sept 1934 and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Ellensburg, WA.

Census records provide the following details:

1900 census of San Francisco, CA:

Yettie Blaul
Yettie Blaul
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Yettie BLAUL which was taken at the Blaul & Co. Studio in Philadelphia, PA. I don’t know if “Yettie” is a nickname or her actual first name. Someone has also written “Be” or “Ze” on the reverse of the photograph. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880’s or early 1890’s with the young woman likely in her teens or 20’s at the time. The word “Penfield” is also written on the bottom of the photograph as well, not sure if it refers to a school or neighborhood or group or family name. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding who I believe is pictured in the photograph:

Henrietta “Yettie” BLAUL was born 12 Mar 1861 in Poughkeepsie, NY to parents Jacob BLAUL (b. Germany) and Henrietta CLAUZ (born Germany) and married Alonzo Potter YOUNG (b. 20 Oct 1858 in Philadelphia, PA) in 1890 in Philadelphia, PA and together they had three children including, Raymond Blaul; Louis A.; and Margerite V. YOUNG all born in Philadelphia, PA between 1891 and 1896. By 1922 they were in living in Los Angeles, CA. Henrietta BLAUL YOUNG died 4 Nov 1936 in Narberth, PA and was buried in Lancaster, PA.

Census records provide the following information regarding the BLAUL Family:

1870 census of Lancaster, PA:

Jacob BLAUL, age 43, a Cooper, born Bavaria
Henrietta BLAUL, age 47, Keeping House, born Bavaria
Louis BLAUL, age 15, a Confectioners Apprentice, born NY
Clara BLAUL, age 14, at Home, born NY
Catharine BLAUL, age 11, born NY
Henrietta BLAUL, age 9, born NY (I believe that this is Yettie a nickname for Henrietta)
John H. BLAUL, age 1 month, born PA

1880 census of Lancaster, PA:

Henry SLAUGH, age 23, a Cabinet Maker, born PA, parents born Bavaria
Clara SLAUGH, wife, age 24, Keeping House, born NY, parents born Bavaria
Lewis BLAUL, brother-in-law, age 25, a Confectioner, born NY, parents born Bavaria
Henrietta BLAUL, sister-in-law, age 19, a Vest Maker, born NY, parents born Bavaria
Jacob BLAUL, father-in-law, age 53, a Cooper, born Bavaria, parents born Bavaria

1920 census of Upper Darby, PA:

Henrietta YOUNG, age 58, born NY, parents born Germany
Marguerite C. YOUNG, dau, age 28, born PA, parents born PA/NY, a Wholesale Groceries Stenographer
Raymond B. YOUNG, son, age 23, born PA, parents born PA/NY, a Gasoline Company Salesman
H. I. Marie YOUNG, dau-in-law, age 22, to USA 1919, born France, parents born France

I am hoping to be able to return the photograph to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this same BLAUL Family, or you if you know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley

John and Will Lunsman
John and Will Lunsman
I've "rescued" an old photograph of John and Will LUNSMAN which was taken at the Remillard Studio in Newburgh, NY. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with the two young boys likely about 6-8 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research and thanks to a SMITH Family Researcher I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:

William Henry LUNSMAN was b. 18 Sept 1874 and his brother John B. LUNSMAN was b. 22 Nov 1876, both were born in Cornwall, NY to parents John Daniel or Daniel John “Dan” LUNSMAN (b. Jan 1845 in New York) and Mary “May” A. EMSLIE (b. Jun 1846 in New York, NY to parents James EMSLIE Sr. and Jane WESTON-d. 1911). The couple had a third child, Janie LUNSMAN. John married Nellie May SMITH (b. 1876 in Long Island, NY to parents Orlando Gardiner SMITH and Mary Rebecca BLYDENBURGH) in 1900 and they had a daughter, Gladys M. LUNSMAN (b. 1903 in Cornwall, NY-d. 18 Sept 2003 in Pompano Beach, FL) who later married Thomas Graham TAYLOR in 1949, though it appears that they did not have any children.

William married Caroline LUNSMAN (b. 1877) and they had two children, Daniel J. (b. 28 Jul 1911-d. 27 Aug 1987 in Volusia Co. FL) and Willis Lent (b. 15 Jun 1913-d. 11 May 1979 in Fort Pierce, FL) LUNSMAN. William’s son Daniel married Florence V. REARDON (b. 18 Oct 1909 – d. 15 Jul 2001) in 1936 and it appears the couple may not have had any children. William’s son Willis is indicated as married after 1940 but there is no information on children in family records.

Census records provide the following details:

1880 census of Cornwall, NY:

James D. EMSLIE, age 60, a Baker, born Scotland, parents born Scotland
Jane EMSLIE, wife, age 60, Keeping House, born England, parents born England
Richard EMSLIE, son, age 22, Journeyman Baker, born NY
May LUNSMAN, dau, age 32, At Home, born NY
William H. LUNSMAN, grandson, age 5, at School, born NY, parents born NY
John B. LUNSMAN, grandson, age 3, born NY, parents born NY

1900 census of Cornwall, NY:

Dan LUNSMAN, age 55, born Jan 1845, married 28 years, born NY, parents born Germany, a Carpenter
Mary LUNSMAN, wife, age 53, born Jun 1846, married 28 years, 3 children/2 living, born NY, parents born Scotland/England
William LUNSMAN, son, age 26, born Sept 1873, born NY, a Farmer
John LUNSMAN, son, age 24, born Mar 1875, born NY, a Carpenter

I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thank you,
Shelley
