SO happy we can just go to the store for Thanksgiving! Circa 100 years ago in Missouri, it was a gun, an ammunition belt, and wild turkeys.

That's sounds like a job !
Go BEFORE Thanksgiving, not ON Thanksgiving! Maybe the stores will start closing on that day so their employees can have it all day with their family & friends.

I cleaned a turkey, tore feathers off, scoured in the kitchen, marinated for 24 hours, stuffed with long grain rice with veggies. Best turkey I had, never again and it was only 11 pounds

It was my job to pullout all the missed pin feathers on the Turkey Mother bought at the store in the 50s.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
