Portrait of Oscar & Ida (Foland) Hogan
This is a picture of my paternal grandfather, Oscar Elbert Hogan, and his 1st wife Ida (Foland) Hogan about the time they were married in 1907. They lived in Bluefield WV. Oscar was from Bedford Co. VA, the son of John Henry Hogan and Virginia Catherine (Stanley) Hogan. Ida died childless in 1914. Oscar remarried in Dec 1915 to Lee Emma Hodges. They too lived in Bluefield. After Lee Emma's death in 1939, Oscar married his childhood friend Annie Crouch. They lived in Montvale, Bedford, Co, VA. John, Virginia and Lee Emma are shown in other pictures under the Hogan name.

Lee Emma (Hodges) Hogan Portrait
This is a portrait of my paternal grandmother, Lee Emma (Hodges) Hogan taken in Bluefield WV circa 1900. She was Oscar Elbert Hogan's 2nd wife and the mother of his only child, Charles Elbert Hogan. Lee Emma's parents were Henry S. and Mary (Angle) Hodges, both of the Boones Mill area of Franklin Co. VA. The Hodges family, including sister Mary "Mollie" and brother Thomas Henry, moved to Bluefield WV in the late 1800s. The family lost contact with their only other child, Joseph, who would have been in his mid-20s around the time they moved.
