My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

Millard Leroy Windon Jr. of Mooresville, N.C United States was born on April 8, 1944 in Parkersburg, Wood County, WV, and died at age 73 years old on October 8, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House 2341 Simonton Rd, in Statesville, NC.
Always a teacher.......to only have went to the 8th grade, he was the smartest man I know. You would have thought he had a degree in so many things. He was a man of great wisdom and a connoisseur of many things.  He was a truck driver,  a woodworker, an artist, a leather craftsman, a farmer, a beekeeper, a gardener, a veteran, a historian, an inventor, and very big on politics might I add. I am sure I have left out a few. He could teach you anything you wanted to know.  The most important hat that he wore was the hat that made him a husband and a father. I will forever remember how I use to try and fit my hand in his and all I could see were his calluses from all the hard work he did. I remember him coming in from a trip, probably out West, and mom had to get his legs out and he would fall out of that big rig on the ground, exhausted. I would get a pan of water and go to clean his cab up, and take a few rides in that big steering wheel of course.  I treasure all the countless times he took us for a ride in it. People thought he was crazy with all of his thoughts, like ...." that stuffs got jet fuel in it" lol , but ya have to admit, it was all pretty much true. Now don't get me wrong we all know he had some not so kind ways about him sometimes, but he did have a heart and I know he loved all of us even though he wouldn't say it.  It was the small gestures he made, that confirmed it. He especially gave mom a run for her money,  but he was the only one earned that right, No one else better ever do her wrong, because this was his bride. I will always miss you daddy.  You didn't believe in doing anything half heartedly. You were a perfectionist in everything you did. You have touched so many lives in your lifetime and will forever hold a place there. I don't know how I will go on without you but I do know, I won't give up, because that's what you taught me. I love you daddy, you'll forever be my hero. Love,  Your Teddybear Photo of Millard Windon Millard Windon
