Jay Solon Riley was the son of Solomon Jay Riley and Ella Iva Nelson. He had siblings Adeline Ida Riley (1923-2005), Veretta Fern Riley (1927-2002), Elma May Riley (1932-2020), Georgia June Riley (1936-1995), Daniel Dallas Riley (1938-2005), Glenna Stella Riley (1939-), and Mary Lee Riley (1940-).
On November 16, 1943 he married Beryl Edith Bennett (1925–1998) in East Jordan, Michigan. Together they had four sons and two daughters including Jean Ellen Riley.
He later re married on September 11, 1969 to Irene Cora Hunter (1934–) in Trousdale, Tennessee, USA. There are no records of them having children together.
Jay was a United States Marine. He served two tours in the Pacific during World War II. 2nd Marine division and again in the 6th Marine division. He was among the first to land on Okinawa during the invasion.
On November 15, 2003 Jay Riley passed away in Ravenden, Arkansas.


Adeline Ida (Riley) Converse of Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan United States was born on August 24, 1923 in Kalkaska, Kalkaska County, and died at age 81 years old on January 30, 2005 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County.

Solomon Jay McKinley Riley of Kalkaska, Kalkaska County, Michigan was born on September 22, 1900 in Kalkaska, and died at age 79 years old on November 25, 1979 in Kalkaska. Solomon Riley was buried at Lodi Cemetery M-66, in Kalkaska.
