About me:
I am a family history researcher. I am mainly interested in the SMITH family of KY and Phelps Co. MO and the TURNER family from Saline, Miller Co., MO ( who originated somewhere in TN?) and the Harrison family from WV, Schmidt family from Kurhessen, Germany that went to Canada and NY, KIDD family from Armagh, Northern Ireland that went to New Orleans, LA; the Kick family from Hesse-Darmstadt Germany AND that has had ancestors in New Orleans, LA since 1720! Also, I want people to know that John William McEntire born in NC or SC ( Census indicates NC) is really the son of John Simpson, a Lumbee Nation members and he was adopted by Zachariah Taylor McEntire and was the son of Myra Crocker. And that the Smiths were possibly Cherokee Nation, fled to Indiana to avoid the trail of tears, went back to reclaim their land in KY, were rebuffed and went on to settle in Phelps Co.,MO. John Smith's wife was Malinda Tellitha Sanders--they were both born in KY. We think her father was john Sanders but don't know. Please contact me if you can help us here!

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
