Johnny Shipp son of Maybell Pickett Shipp and Fletcher Shipp Paulding Co Ga. Sister Evelyn Huff, Brothers were Leon, Fred, Jack, Ervin, Joe I Shipp. Johnny was in WWII in Germany I think. He died at age 62.

had brothes Fred, Ervin, Johnny, Joe, Jack. One brother Leon who died at twelve years old, Her father died at same time. She is buried at New Cannan cemetery in Dallas Ga. So is Odell. Grandaughter of James A Pickett and Laura Parker. ggd of James C Pickett and Elizabeth Brintle, gggd of Malachi Pickett and Mary, gggggd of Macajah Pickett and Susannah Thompson Johns from Rutherford Co NC.

Ervin Shipp son of Maybell Pickett and Fletcher Shipp from Paulding Co Ga.
Ervin was in Germany in WWII, gson of
James A and Laura Parker Pickett, ggs of James C and Elizabeth Brintle Pickett, gggs of Malachi and Mary from NC, ggggs of Macajah and Susannah Johns Pickett NC. Ervin drowned at Lake Altoona in 1964. Ervin was a medic in WWII.

Alwayne was the wife of Ervin Shipp. They had two boys and one girl. Daughter of George Strickling and Lila Boyd from Paulding Co GA.
Alwayne has three brothers.

Mark and Maggie Shipp lived in Dallas Ga all their adult lives. They are the parents of John & Fletcher Shipp and Vena Crow, Rhoda
Barne, and ETC.

Mattie was Dau or Gd of Oliver Washington Pickett & Sarah Wills from Paulding Co GA.
Oliver was the son of Malachia Pickett and Mary Wesson or James Charles from Dallas, Paulding Co GA. Are the brother of James C Pickett & Elizabeth Brintle, Benjamin William Pickett & Martha C Fannin ,Malachi T Pickett & Margaret M Lewis, will have to look up other bro or sisters.

This is a memorial for Benjamin W Pickett who was married to Martha Caroline Fannin in Paulding Co GA married in 1850. No one knows where Ben is really buried, my Dad said that it is on Due West Road now close to hwy 92 and someone built a brick ranch house back in 50's over the cemetery.

Malachi and Benjamin owned the land where the Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic site is.

Martha Fannin and Benjamin had children in the Paulding Co Heritage book the fannin family wrote that their children were Benjamin Pickett Jr, Malachi, Lorman, William and Mary Ann.
On the Pickett's Mill Web site it says that his children were Malachi 12, Billy 7, Louisa 9, and Mary 3. And by a previous marriage he had three children William G 4, Malachi 9, Louisa 6 and she had just given birth to a girl when Ben was killed at Chickamauga in 1863. So this information is not in agreement.
I think the Pickett Mill information is mostly incorrect as the census says otherwise.And I think that Martha and Ben had been married 10 years and he had never been married before.

Martha then married Ison Sheffield and Andy Highsaw. I do not know what happened to Martha and Ben's children I found where Malachi married a Margaret Russon in Paulding Co GA. I think there was a son Lorman and he died as child.

On the 1860 Paulding Co Census it says Benjamin W Pickett 32 SC, Martha Caroline (Fanny) Fannin Pickett 25 GA, Mal 9 GA, Louisa 6 GA, Wm G 4 GA, Mary 4/12 GA. This is probably correct.

In census 1920 in Burnt Hickory Dist 4D found that Martha C Highsaw Head of household, F W farmer age 87 widow

Henry was born in Haywood SC/NC b1837-d1877 was in Co, K, 60 Vol Inf. At some point he moved to Dallas Ga. and married Nancy Rollins in 1860. She was born in 1844 in Paulding Co GA died in 1914. Both are buried in New Hope cemetery in, Paulding Co Ga. This orginal picture was almost gone and I had it redone in the 1970 so it is not perfect.Nancy parents were Williamson Rollins, b1810 in NC D 1848, M in 1830 to Martha Ann Price b1813 d1886 they had 10 children william L, Louisa Melvina, Martha Elizabeth, John Williamson, Lucy A, Mary Ann, Nancy E, Andrew J, Margaret J, Thomas Jefferson and Henry Russell. Henry R and Nancy had seven children william h, lilla, mary, laura, lou, georgia, martha.
