Terry Lee Monroe's father was Donald Glen Monroe (1932 - 2003), born in Kansas, and Viola Monroe. She had one sister, Penny Monroe.
Terry married Douglas Wayne Cox in Salem Oregon in August 1977. They divorced on October 2, 1980 in Marion, Oregon.
In February of 1981, Terry was out with some friends at a North Salem tavern. She told her friends that she was going outside for some "fresh air" - and they never saw her again.
When she didn't come back, they notified the police and the police found her clothes and identification the next day on the bank of a river near the tavern.
Several days later, a boater discovered her body about 3 miles from the tavern.
A suspect was identified, arrested, and convicted for her murder. See Body found in Willamette Identified.
