Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was the United States’ 16th President in 1861, and is best remembered for his role in ending slavery in the United States. During his presidency, he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared that all slaves in the Confederate states were to be set free in 1863. Lincoln warned the South in his Inaugural Address: “In your hands, my dissatisfied fellow countrymen, and not in mine, is the momentous issue of civil war. The government will not assail you…. You have no oath registered in Heaven to destroy the government, while I shall have the most solemn one to preserve, protect and defend it.” Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky in 1809 to Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks and spent much of his early life working on the family farm. He was largely self-educated, and his passion for reading and learning helped him to become a successful lawyer and politician.

Ronald Wilson Reagan
Ronald Reagan was an American politician, actor, and 40th President of the United States. Born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois, Reagan's early life was shaped by his family's struggles during the Great Depression. After graduating from Eureka College in 1932, he worked as a radio sports announcer and actor before eventually turning to politics. Reagan's rise to national prominence began in the 1960s, when he became a popular conservative spokesperson and a vocal opponent of communism. He served two terms as Governor of California, from 1967 to 1975, before winning the presidency in 1980. As president, Reagan is remembered for his staunch conservative policies, his efforts to end the Cold War, and his enduring legacy as a cultural and political icon. Reagan passed away on June 5, 2004, but his impact on American politics and culture remains significant to this day.

William Hollweg
A photo of a young William Hollweg. This photo is believed to have been taken within the last year of young Bill's life. Born May 14, 1926 to Edward & Evelyn (Shaw) Hollweg, Belleville, NJ, his short life came to an end October 28, 1932 after contracting diphtheria. His mother, Evelyn, was very upset with the decision to take him to St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic, NJ feeling that she could better care for her boy. She insisted that the doctor was "an old drunk" and didn't trust him; possibly she was right?
