About me:
I was born in Greenwich, SE London which is where many of my direct ancestors lived back to the 1600's... I have been able to trace them through the Thames Watermen & Lightermen Records, as many worked on or near the river. As my Tree has expanded I have still found that all of my relatives were born primarily in the South and East of England, but several descendants on other lines have emigrated to other countries across the world.
Tracing my Tree has not been easy as my birth mother became a missing person when I was three months old and I was not brought up by either of my parents... I was not adopted, but brought up primarily by my father's half sister and her husband who I called Mum & Unc (as I knew my father). I am now 53, married for 35 years with children and grandchildren and I have also been researching my husband's Family Tree... so there are quite a lot of names listed below, all of which are the family names of our direct ancestors. My husband is also a Londoner, but we moved to Essex where we have lived for over 20 years now... although happy here in Chelmsford, I must say how much we miss living in London, especially since we have been discovering how strong our London roots are through genealogical research.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
