Ferrah Leni Fawcett was born on February 2nd, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Pauline Alice (Evans) Fawcett (1914 - 2005) and James William Fawcett (1917 - 2010) the youngest of two daughters. Her older sister, Diane, became a graphic artist. While at the University of Texas at Austin, she was "discovered". Voted the "most beautiful" in her freshman year, photos were sent to an agent and he spent 2 years encouraging her to move to Hollywood.
Of course, she did move and after shooting that iconic poster (in every boy's room in America) the most famous of her acting roles (after numerous appearances on a variety of tv shows) was on "Charlie's Angels". She was only on the show for one season, but boy did she make a splash!
In the late 1960s, Farrah began dating Lee Majors ("Six Million Dollar Man") and they were legally married from 1973 to 1982. They separated in 1979. For that period of time, she went by the name Farrah Fawcett-Majors.
In 1979, Farrah became involved with Ryan O'Neal, the father of Tatum O'Neal, and they had a son, Redmond James Fawcett O'Neal, in 1985. While their relationship was turbulent and they didn't last as a couple, they were involved off and on for the rest of her life.
Diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, Farrah went through treatment but never fully recovered. After fighting the cancer for about 3 years, she died on June 25, 2009 at age 62 at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California with her partner, Ryan O'Neal and good friend Alana Stewart by her side. She was buried in Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles, next to Rodney Dangerfield.
See a long, loving tribute to Farrah at Farrah Fawcett: Obituary.

Farrah Fawcett
A photo of Farrah Fawcett, actress, showing off her iconic 1970's hairstyle. Everyone tried to copy her hair - no one could. And why? Well, years later the truth came out - this wasn't all Farrah's hair. Her hairdresser used extensions. Although Farrah had thick, curly hair even she needed some help.
