USA Merchant Marine Great Lakes
My father worked on the Great Lakes Freighters during the end of WWII and about 6 years after. I wrote the US Coast Guard and they sent me his records including this. What a surprise. I cherish it.

Basic Training
My father who always had a smile on his face. Was drafted for the Korean War. He had serve previously with the US Coast Guard on the freighters of the Great Lakes, continuing after WWII as a Merchant Marine. Then 6 months off the ships as a regular joe he was drafted and put into basic training and put into the Army, where he served with the Tank Corps.

Ellen Klienke (Haire)
Great Aunt Ellen Klienke who had all brothers and no sisters. She took care of her family when her mother passed away and about a year later her father passed away leaving her at the age of 15 almost 16 to care for her younger siblings. Although they all went their separate ways they always managed to get together for a family reunion.

Lula married George May
Julia married James McCormick
Martha married Milard Waugh
Alberta married Andrew Caldwell after his death to Phelyn Moore (she's still wearing black from Andrew's tragic death)
Odessia married Mont Crum
Picture was taken I am guessing before 1918 because Bertie died in October 1918. There is one sister missing. Mary Margaret. The woman standing by the tree I am guessing is their mother. Delilah Conn Jarrells

This is George Haire he loved to hunt and fish. He lived in a lot of different places during his life time. I believe this was taken in West Bay City or Ovid in Clinton County, Michigan.
