Steve's parents were Josef and Leopoldina (Howarth) Metzner sometimes incorrectly spelled Howard. Both his parents were born in Hungary and both Died in Mandan, North Dakota after living on the farm many years that they homesteaded and passed to Steve. He was second to last child of 11.He lived there until his death. He was a veteran of the Korean war.
And was married the year before he went to Ann Jean Kuntz January 4th 1952 After his death he passed the farm to his 4 kids Russell, Steven, Roxanne and Jodee. Equally. The home place is still owned by family thou the house has eroded. This house was also the school Steve and his siblings were taught in. And is in Fort Rice ND. Steve was injured in the late 1960 when he shattered his ankle falling into a well due to the fault of someone he was working with. He suffered greatly from this but kept mobile thru it all his life. He will always be remembered as a great grandfather as he spent many days with his grandkids. And and one who met him would always remember him.

Joe Metzner of Banning, Riverside County, CA was born on February 17, 1912, and died at age 94 years old on August 3, 2006.
