I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come.
I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. A man suspected of raping and beating a woman shot himself in the head when El Dorado County sheriff's deputies approaches his residence, authorities said.
Kenneth John Lowry, 31, of Shingle Springs survived the gunshot wound and was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.
Deputies said they received a call at 6 a.m. Monday from a 43-year-old woman who reported she had been raped and beaten by a man she was dating. The woman said she escaped from the man's home in the 5000 block of Old Frenchtown Road in Shingle Springs.
Deputies transported her to Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, where her condition was described as moderate. Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Bryan Golmitz said deputies searched the area near Old Frenchtown Road but were unable to find the suspect. At 3p.m., an Old Frenchtown Road resident called the Sheriff's Department to report that Lowry was at his house.
Golmitz said in an e-mail that when deputies were walking toward the residence, Lowry shot himself in the head. Lowry was flown by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

Kenneth John Lowry was born on September 28th, 1967 in El Dorado County, California, United States to [private] Lowry and Carolyn Yvonne Parks (1932-2021). His mother was born in Minnesota. He had two sisters, Rena Davonne Lowry, and Krislyn Kay Lowry, and an adopted brother, Tomas Lowry.
Kenneth was unmarried and had two children. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault and became known for leaving instructions to donate his organs after his death, which were honored after he committed suicide.
On June 1, 2009, Kenneth was accused of raping and beating a woman he was dating. When Sheriff approached his residence in Shingle Springs, El Dorado County, California (zip code 95682), they shot his Great Dane, and then Kenny tragically took his own life by shooting himself in the head. He was taken to a hospital where he passed away shortly after. He donated his salvageable body parts and saved 3 stranger’s lives in his death.
