Charles H Gates and Children
Charles H. Gates of Des Moines, IA with children from his second marriage (wife Martha). Dorothy Gates age 10 and Mark Gates age 8 when photo was taken in Rapid City, SD. Charley Gates lived in Des Moines a good part of his life. He owned Gates Pure Food Market on Walnut Street in Des Moines. His first wife was Lottie Watson Gates who died in 1905. He and Lottie had five sons, Robert, Frederick, Charles, Benjamin and Paul also a daughter Galeta.
