Bertha Ellen (Osborne) Wright of Dorton, Pike County, KY was born on March 15, 1911 at Home birth in Dorton. Bertha was baptized at Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church 1-371 Dorton St, in Jenkins. Bertha Wright died at age 90 years old on May 5, 2001 at Home in Dorton.
Lexie Wright of Dorton, Pike County, KY was born on October 6, 1913, and died at age 92 years old on June 6, 2006.

Carrying a coffin in Kentucky 1940
A Marion Post Wolcott photo of mountain people carrying a coffin up the creek bed to the family graveyard, where it will be buried. This area was too isolated to have a formal funeral service immediately. Names of the people in the photo are unknown, Marion Post Wolcott was sent to Kentucky by the federal government to document conditions in Kentucky during the Depression.

Hatfield McCoy feud, KY & WV
The Hatfield McCoy feud lasted from 1863 until 1891 in West Virginia and Kentucky between two of the most infamous U.S. families; the Hatfields & the McCoys.
The Hatfield family was led by William Anderson Hatfield, nicknamed the "Devil Anse", and Randolph McCoy, aka "Ole Ran'l", led the McCoy family which emigrated from Ireland. The decades long family feud between the 'haves' (the Hatfields) and the 'have-nots' (the McCoys) began when Asa Harmon McCoy was murdered by "Devil Anse" Hatfield on January 7th, 1865. "Devil Anse" was evidently extremely upset that Asa had fought for the Union during the U.S. Civil War as the Harfield family had predominately fought for the Confederacy.
