Susan Cook

My name is Susan J. Cook and I have been learning how difficult it is to reasearch the COOK Surname. Not only COOK but it seems everyone in this family have names that have thousands with the same name, Mary, William, Arthur, Albert, etc. but I have made what I consider good progress. I have found family back to the early 1800 and there I am.....William COOK thousands of them and his wife Mary. We recently met with new family members though that still live in London and she didn't know about her half brother so with this meeting I'm full of vigar and ready to research again. She gave a photo of an Officer, WWl in full Officers uniform that she said she didn't know. Her mother and my husband's mother had kept this photo in a small pamphlet written in Japanese on her person all the time and just before she died she gave it to her and asked her to keep it always. She thought that it may be of importance to our research. But I can't read Japanese and we can't recognise the officer. I'd like to post it here but I don't know how to do the posting.
