2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Elizabeth Bowling daughter of Justice and Hannah Reed Bowling
This is the daughter of Justice and Hannah Reed Bowling. Justice is the son of Benjamin Bowling/Bolling and Martha Patsy Phelps/Felps, of Virginia and North Carolina; and brother of Elder Jesse Bolling of Perry County, Kentucky. Elder Jesse was also the firs Magistrate (Judge) of Perry County, Kentucky. The area that Elder Jesse Bolling lived was called Bowlingtown, named after Elder Jesse Bolling who was Minister of the Primitive Baptist Church. Bowlingtown was torn down in the 1960's by the Government to put a lake, picnic area, etc. They moved almost 900 graves to a new cemetery to make room for the Lodge, Picnic area, etc. It was devastating for the people who lived there for so many generations.
