Michelle D Despinasse was born to Michel A. and Denis M. Pinchinat Despinasse and had two sisters, Angie and Carly.
Michelle attended Rockland Community College, and worked several years at Good Samaritan Hospital's maternity ward. Three years after graduating she became an assistant basketball coach at Rockland.
Michelle was a talented basketball player. She had opportunities to go to a four year college and play division 2 basketball, but chose instead to help the woman's basketball team at her community college.
At 27 years old, Michelle died at Westchester Medical Center two days after she was found shot in the head inside her Spring Valley home on Sept 15, 1999. A copy of the article "RCC to honor slain basketball coach and her Michelle Despinasse: Obituary are below.
Ex-boyfriend, Ken Rogers of Bronx New York was eventually convicted of Michelle's murder. Michelle's voice was captured on an answering machine tape pleading with "Ken" to leave her house at about 7pm on September 15th when she was shot.
