Captured Japanese Sub, WW II 1943
A Japanese 2 man submarine captured after the Pearl Harbor bombing. Not only did the bombing of Pearl Harbor induce the U.S. to enter WW II, it also became a symbol for all Americans, much as the Twin Towers collapse was in 2001. This captured Japanese vest pocket sub toured the U.S. as a focal point for selling War Bonds.
