Bill's father - Bill Gates Sr.
Bill's father Bill Gates Sr. (1925-2020), full name William Henry Gates II, was born in Bremerton Washington where my grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch was born five years later and was raised during her childhood. Bremerton is also where Dennis R Washington spent a good portion of his young life.

I've always found it amazing how such a small town outside Seattle grew individuals who would end up having such an impact in this world. Strangely, where I live today in Willow Glen California on the same street lives a woman born just a few years after my grandmother who also was born in Bremerton.

Bill was a quiet & shy child who was mostly interested in reading. He attended public school until his parents sent him to the private Lakeside School in Seattle Washington where he was introduced to computer programming and met Paul Allen, his later partner in founding Microsoft.

I respect his dedication to growing Microsoft. He truly dedicated a sizable portion of his life to a company that has impacted most, if not all, of the world. I also respect his ability to pivot his dedication to now focus on impacting the world through all of his various projects to better humanity.
