Anton George Poitevin was born to Anton George Poitevin Jr. (1889-1981) and Etheltrude "Ethel" P. Parr (1899-1968), and had siblings Joseph who died an infant in 1921, Marie Antoinette 'Toni' (1923-1984), William Edward 'Billy' (1926-1931), Ramon Joseph (1930-1985), and Ethelyn Claire Poitevin (1936-1995). Anton married Beatrice Jean Nixon (1923-1994) on September 26th 1942 in Spokane Washington and they had three daughters and three sons including Danny Antone Poitevin who died one year after his birth in 1947. Anton was a World War 2 Veteran who enlisted in the United States Army on May 23rd 1944 and served until his discharge on November 2nd 1945.

My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
