Florence S. Emmons Cocker
I have an old studio photograph of Florence S. EMMONS which was taken at the Rodgers Studio in Hartford, CT. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890’s with Florence likely in her teens at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Florence and her family:

Florence Sylvia EMMONS was b. 1879 or 1881 in Connecticut to parents Elmore Eugene EMMONS (1841 or 1850-1892) and Maria Elizabeth LANE (1855-1900) who were married in 1876. Florence was one of 7 children born to this couple including William Ira; Alfred Lawrence or Eugene; Florence Sylvia; Frederick or Fredrick Albert; Martha Randall or Randell; William J.; and Grace Elinor EMMONS, all born between 1877 and 1890.

Florence married Joseph COCKER (1877-1948) on 11 Jul 1899 in Watertown, CT and they had a daughter, Marion Gladys COCKER b. 1904. Florence died in 1926 and is buried in Great Barrington, MA.

I would like to get this treasure to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
