My grandfather was born in 1899 and passed away when my mom was 7 in 1959 (yes he was a very old father). He came to California from Oklahoma. His grandfather (my great-great) was originally from Illinois and moved to Oklahoma during the land run and some of his siblings came west to Oregon.

I found a Leta Irene Hunt who was born in 1887 and got married in El Paso, Tx in 1909. She was born in Portland, Oregon.
I am going to check that out. Thanks.
I have found some information - contacting someone connected to her husband's family. Also changed the date based on marriage information.

I would think 1875-1910 . Wealthy dress but shoes a little tacky ? Would one say . whether this is one outfit or two . that is . the white under blouse . and then the pleated dress on top . the sleeves look a little tight . Delightful designer label of it's time . entrancing model :)

This is def before 1920....the ribbon in the hair and the belt would have never been worn after '20. Most likely 1905-1915. I know that been suggested before, just confirming. I have pics of my grandmother in this same era.

Note short skirt length & hairbow. Women wore longer skirts pre WWI, however this girl looks like a teenager or younger. (Perhaps she's tall for her age.) The ruffly bodice looks pre-WWI also, so I say c. 1915. Don't see any pleats, I see gathers.

Mary Pickford dressed like this in her movies from 1915-20. It was a more rural, small-town look, which was behind the times. Remember that until the 20s, styles took longer to circulate than nowadays. And El Paso would have favored the more conservative modes. Not 1925, my guess is 1917.
uncanny, the resemblance btwn her and Kevin Costner. the dress looks velvet and I am guessing early 1900's

Thanks everyone for suggestions about the date. I now have some more information to move the date back. Leta was married in El Paso on 12/23/09 to Laban Huron ... so the photo can't be any later than 1909 as her maiden name is on it.

She was born in 1889 per Ancestry.
I do not think this is 1925! It seems to me it's from 1912 or thereabouts! The boots alone put it at a much earlier date; I just posted a photo of two of my aunts wearing the same boots, in Europe, probably 1912.
