In either 1821 or 1824 Sarah Drynan was born to John Drynan and Jean Drynan (McClelland), she later married Robert Weir, born either 1824 or 1826, son of ? Weir and Rachel Weir (Stewart). They had six children that we know of (Jane, Robert, Elizabeth, James, John and William). Sarah and Robert were both born in Ireland, its thought in either County Down or Antrim. These two were my g g g grandparents. I am trying to find their ancestors if possible and a more detailed family history. I have several hundred pages of the family history from Sarah and Robert to modern day, most of which I have yet to read as I only received it a few days ago from my grandfather, William Ian Weir. I have a web site that is still under construction, as I am still checking and cross referencing, if anyone is interested. The site is as follows: [external link]

I am looking for someone who hopefully can give me a hand. Clarence James Weir is my great grandfather and he was born in 1845 in Indiana. According to the 1880 census, his father was born in North Carolina. Trying to find a Weir in North Carolina is like finding straw in a haystack. If anyone has any information that could lead me in a good direction, you would save me another six months of frustration and earn my undyinng gratitude. Thank you in advance, Bruce
